What is YAGEVFA project?
YAGEVFA is an ongoing project implemented in Nyagatare district which started in the year 2012. It was designed to contribute to the promotion of social justice and fight against Gender Based Violence (GBV) through community engagement and to strengthen existing anti GBV mechanisms with funding from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).
What is the aim of the project?
The Youth Awareness on Gender Equality and Violence Free Families (YAGEVFA) project aims at promoting violence free families and gender equality. To tackle low demand and access to Gender Based Violence (GBV) victim services caused by ineffective collaboration and inadequate coordination of GBV response interventions as well as ignorance about available victim services; which especially leads to vulnerability of women, girls and children to gender based violence.

YAGEVFA is operates within all 14 sectors of Nyagatare District in the Eastern Province.
